Teen Sailing

Teen sailing-About us!

Picture
Teen sailing is proud to say that we are created for the sole purpose of creating communication for teen sailors world wide. I was inspired to create this site after reading a blog off sailingworld.com about people using blogs to look for crews. So now here I am putting this site up in hopes that everyone can enjoy it and hopefully make some new friends. I am in all terms aside obessed with sailboats and have over 5 years of experience sailing, studying, repairing, and modifying sailboats. I hope I can share my expansive knowledge and I hope some of my close friends that owns boats and sailed with me will blog and post on this site.

Some things you can expect to see in the future would be blogs from some handpicked sailors I personally know. You will see forums here soon where you and others can swap stories, help each other trouble shoot, and enjoy talking to each other in a friendly postive enviornment. Plus hopefully you will see a classifieds section for affordable boats, sails, rigging and other things that you need to maintain your boat. You can also expect to see hardware reviews, boat reviews and a section devoted to DIY projects. We will also be compiling a weekly newsletter so you can stay in touch with the sailing community!

Now a little about me. My name is Ryan Briggs. I am 18 years old and have lived in Ohio all my life. My main hobby is obviously is sailing and repairing/modifying sailboats. I also enjoy camping, fishing, auto work, and playing the guitar. I listen to alot of country and rock music and enjoying sitting back and playing the guitar or sitting on the porch of my grandmas camper at Charles Mill Lake (when im not sailing or fishing). I have alot of great friends who also enjoy sailing and are as equally upset as me about the lack of sailing camp this year at Cowan Lake state park in South Western Ohio. The UCC shut us down this year because of "lack of interest". Well hopefully all you ohio sailing teens (and you Notherners from Kentucky!) can help with the cause to bring this amazing camp back. I will explain more later.

Now you know all about us so why dont you tell us something about you? I will have an online form soon so you can be put in the database. The purpose of this is so we know if you would like to be contacted about certain events and happenings and receive the new newsletter that will be coming here soon!

Thanks Ryan
